The lodge
Do everything.
Or nothing at all.
Put your snorkel on and swim out from the dock, or stay in the hammock and let the day go past. Both are correct. The island is five acres of sand and palms with no cars, no roads and no crowd — and the reef close enough that you can hear it break at night.
We cook three meals a day, keep the coffee going, and lend you a kayak whenever you want one. Everything else is up to you.

Beach Cabanas
A cabana of your own on the sand, two double beds and a mini fridge for the beers you carried over.
SeaView Suite
More room to spread out, with a mini fridge and the long view down the length of the caye.
You & Me Cabana
Our largest, at the far end of the property. Two doubles plus a twin, and the only unit with air conditioning — solar, so it runs while the sun is up.
In the water
Tobacco Caye is one of the few
islands you can swim the reef from
No boat, no transfer, no waiting for a group. Walk to the end of the dock and you are there.
Snorkeling
Coral, turtles and thousands of fish, straight off the dock. Full mask, snorkel and fins from $10US a day.
Diving
Our own dive shop and a PADI instructor on site, certifying up to Dive Master. Walls, canyons and the Blue Hole within reach.
Fishing
Fly, spin or local hand-line, with guides who have fished these flats their whole lives. The kitchen will cook what you bring back.
A day here
Nothing is scheduled.
It just tends to go like this.
On the island it’s — right now
- 6:30 Coffee on the dock. The light comes up behind the reef and the pelicans start working.
- 8:00 Breakfast. Eggs, fry jacks, fruit, and as much coffee as the morning needs.
- 9:30 The boat leaves for the first dive, or you swim out from the dock instead.
- 12:30 Lunch, then snacks at the bar for anyone still hungry.
- 1:30 The hammock hour. Book, nap, or a paddleboard around the caye. It takes twenty minutes.
- 3:30 Back in the water, when the afternoon light gets into the coral.
- 5:30 Rum punch, west side of the island, sun going down behind the mainland mountains.
- 7:00 Dinner, everyone at the table, whatever came in off the boats that day.
- 9:00 The bar closes and it gets properly dark. You can hear the reef from your bed.
Getting here
Four steps
and a boat ride
It looks like a long way on a map, and then it takes most of one morning. We arrange the last leg for you and email the captain’s details a couple of days before you arrive.
